Overview
Travel to Shanghai's outskirts to visit traditional Qibao and the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao. Take in the an old-world atmosphere of Qibao, which features historic buildings, a pretty canal and small lanes filled with interesting shops.
In the afternoon, continue to Zhujiajiao, which sits next to the Dianpu River. Stroll over stone bridges and past old buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, then take a sightseeing cruise on a traditional wooden boat. Your tour includes private guide and transportation, entrance tickets, and hotel pick-up & drop-off.

Shanghai Qibao Ancient Town
The Seven Treasures Town (Shanghai Qibao Ancient Town) is famous for its old streets, which were once named as the Ding's Farmstead in the ancient Chinese Dynasty of Han. In the early days of the Song Dynasty, the Seven Treasures Temple was moved to the place and the town was renamed as Seven Treasures Town just same as the temple.
Moreover, a legend said that the place was so named because it possessed the following seven treasures – the Gold Lotus Scripture, the Magic Tree, the Big Bell Floated from Afar, the Buddha Flown over from Afar, the Gold Cock, the Jade Chopsticks and the Jade Axe. The town was reconstructed with huge amount of money in 2000 and was transformed into a great tourist resort once again.
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town
In centuries past Zhujiajiao was a trading area: the many canals were used to ferry products along in little boats and barges. Boats are still very much part of the charm of the place. Small boats are ubiquitous there, functioning as a nice way to get a view of the town and experience local life.
You will be taking a gondola with the tour guide on the waterway to view the face of old town from a different angle at your pace. It is a private tour, offering good flexibility. If you want some more time for taking photos, or you have more questions about the history and architecture, just let your guide know. You will explore three carefully-selected places along the waterway: Kezi Garden, Qing Dynasty Post Office, Fangsheng Bridge.
