The first Chiang Mai New Year Countdown Festival, a magnificent New Year countdown celebration will take place on December 30th and 31st, 2024.

Timeline For The Celebration
17:30 - 18:30
Arrange your own transportation to meet us at the meeting point at Lanna Polytechnic Chiang Mai. Then show e-ticket on your cell phone to get on our free shuttle and transfer to the venue (about 40 mins drive).

- Note: Please try to depart at the times indicated above as much as possible, as there are likely to be many people and traffic jams on the day of the festival. Additionally, if you plan to take a taxi directly from your hotel in the city center to the event venue by your own, it usually takes about 40 minutes. Please note that traffic jams and increased taxi fares may be occurred.

Enjoy the concert "Reflecting the Happiness of the Past".

Enter the ritual space in front of the grand pagoda by the lake to prepare for the ancient Lanna show. Enjoy the show "Impression of the Glory of Lanna". And preparation for countdown - light and sound show.

Join in with the praying and make some wishes, then witness a spectacular international fireworks display featuring five sets at midnight and countdown for New Year together.

The event will end after the fireworks and transfer back to the meeting point in Chiang Mai city.
Ticket Price & Differences
There're three kinds of tickets - Elite, Premium and VIP ticket. Elite ticket is most recommended, as you will get closest to the stage, enjoy extra special foods, and exclusive transfer service.
Differences Among Ticket Types:
- Seating Areas: Seating for performances varies by ticket type, with Elite ticket holders closest to the stage, followed by Premium and then VIP ticket holders.
- Dining Areas: Each ticket type grants access to different dining areas, with the Elite ticket offering the finest dining experience.
- Transportation: Elite tickets provide Luxury Car Model Hyundai H-1 (Exclusive pick-up at the hotel, available only on December 31st), while VIP and Premium tickets offer VIP Van Service (specific model unspecified).
Note: Only Elite tickets for December 31st include hotel pick-up & drop-off service. On December 30th, all ticket types offer shuttle transfer service, with pick-up at Polytech-Lanna.
- That's how your e-ticket will look. Once you complete the payment for your booking, we will email it to you. On the day of your tour, simply present the e-ticket on your mobile device to our personnel at the registration booth located at the meeting point. Our staff will then assist you in boarding the shuttle.

Children Policy
- Children over 8 years old are required to purchase a ticket, and the ticket price is the same as that of an adult.
- Children under 8 years old free of charge. They can occupy a seat with parents and will not be provided an extra lantern or souvenir. However, they can enjoy dinner with their parent during the event.
Cancellation Policy
- 30+ days before: cancellations fully refunded
- 0–29 days before: no refunds (cancelled festival revenue goes to charity)
- No ticket name/date changes
- No lost ticket refunds/compensation

- What's the different between ELITE, PREMIUM & VIP?
Elite ticket holders closest to the stage (First row 1-6), followed by Premium(Row 7-14) and then VIP ticket(Row 15-22) holders; Elite ticket offering priority check-in row and the finest dining experience; Elite tickets provide Luxury Car Model Hyundai H-1, while VIP and Premium tickets offer VIP Van Service.
- When do I get the e-Tickets?
Once you complete the payment for your booking, we will email it to you within 12 hours or ASAP. On the day of your tour, simply present the e-ticket on your mobile device to our personnel at the registration booth located at the meeting point. Our staff will then assist you in boarding the shuttle.
- Children policy?

- Drone, smoking and drinking policy?
Alcohol drinking & Smoking are not allowed in the event. Drone is not allow at the venue area.
- Do we have book in advance?
Definitely your should book for this tour in advance. Ticket might be sold out quickly.
- Will the floating lanterns cause environmental problems such as earth and water pollution or forest fire?
We will provide traditional Dhammachai lanterns that approved by Thai Industrial Standards TIS808/2552. The lantern is made of natural and recyclable papers and bamboo, all the materials are biodegradable and will not cause pollution. It has a heat-proof wire attached to the candle wick, which will likely quench out after floating up for about 10 minutes. And the heat-proof wire prevents fire or short circuit if the lanterns fall on the high-voltage power transmission cables.
