Itinerary

(Day 1) Pickup from Tianjin Cruise Port, Transfer to Beijing, Visit the Great Wall at Mutianyu.

Meet the tour guide at exit 3 of arrival hall. The tour guide will hold a logo sign of Trippest with your name on it.

The Great Wall of Mutianyu section is ranked top among all parts of the Great Wall on TripAdvisor for its picturesque scenery, fewer tourists, and beautifully-restored architecture.

You can return by cable car, walk down, or walk along the wall for about an hour to descend by chairlift. Wear good walking shoes and protection from the weather.

(Day 2) Visit Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Summer Palace, Qianmen Street.

Tian'anmen Square is the largest city square in the center of Beijing, named after the Tian'anmen (literally meaning the "Gate of Heavenly Peace"), which sits to the north of it, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history.

As the world's largest famous square and an enduring symbol of China's national pride, it is surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate (entrance to the Forbidden City), museums, government buildings, and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum.

The Forbidden City was home to 24 emperors between 1368 and 1911. This "city within a city" is a World Heritage Site, and is the largest and the best preserved ancient imperial architecture complex in the world, with a great square, halls, and gates that contrast with intricate halls, gardens, courtyards, and quarters. The exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, are all important treasures of ancient China.

Jingshan Park is located behind the Forbidden City. It is a 479-meter high hill and is said to be the best position to get a panoramic view of the Forbidden City. Definitely not to be missed, Jingshan Park is located on the central axis of Beijing and has many historic buildings symmetrically located on both sides. You will see the Drum and Bell Tower to the north while the Forbidden City and Tian'anmen Square can be seen to the south. You'll also have a chance to see the authentic lifestyle of old Beijinger, doing Tai Chi, dance and other activities throughout the park.

You'll visit the world-famous the world famous imperial garden called the Summer Palace. The imperial building was constructed by the emperor in celebration of his mother's birthday. It is 273 hectares in size and is composed of three main scenic areas: the palace area, lake area, and mountain area. The best way to enjoy sightseeing at the Summer Palace is by taking a dragon boat on the lake (the boat trip is not available in winter as the lake would be frozen) and, on the way, you will have a chance to view all of the beautiful palaces at the side of the lake.

After the boat trip, you will stroll along the long corridor with your guide; this is regarded as being the longest art gallery in the world and has 14,000 traditional paintings painted on the beams.

Next, Qianmen Street was the imperial road to the Temple of Heaven. Since the middle of Ming Dynasty, Qianmen Street had become a famous business street until now. Even though it has been recently rebuilt, it is still a good place if you want to check out a few hutongs and some of side streets. The different Hutong street has different features, and the architecture and vibe are very traditional Chinese. With a history of more than 450 years, there dwells around 30 famous shops with over 100 years history such as Beijing Tong Ren Tang which sells Chinese medicine, Rui Fuxiang which sells silk and Liu Biju which sells pickles etc.

(Day 3) Visit Temple of Heaven, Back to Tianjin Cruise Port.

Built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty, Temple of Heaven is a complex of Taoist buildings where emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties visited for annual ceremonies of pray for good harvests. Located in the south of Central Beijing, it covers an area of 273 hectares. Temple of Heaven was enrolled as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998.
