09:30-11:30Visit Zhujiajiao Water Village

This famous ancient water town-Zhujiajiao is often compared to the “Venice of Shanghai”, and a bright pearl in Dianshan Lake. And it is also one of the four famous historical and cultural towns in Shanghai.

A boat trip is the best way to explore the town. There are dozens of two or three-storey houses with black tile and whitewashed wall on both sides of the waterway. See for yourself the hustle and bustle of life of the local people living by the canals, which is colorful and very interesting as you glide by.

Three Must-visit Sights:

Your tour guide will help you explore three carefully-selected places along the waterway, recommended by our insiders.

  1. Kezhi Garden: “Kezhi” means “study plants”. It is also called Ma’s Garden, and it is the largest manorialgarden architecture in Zhujiajiao.
  2. Qing Dynasty Post Office: it is the first post office in modern China. And it is also the place where China’s first set of stamps –The Large Dragon Stamps come into being.
  3. Fangsheng Bridge: it is the largest stone arch bridge in Shanghai and in the South areas.

11:30-12:30Lunch in the water village

Stop at our well-selected local restaurant and have a rest and grab a bite of someenjoyable local Shanghai dishes.
The restaurant has an excellent waterway view. Open the window on the second floor and you will have a nice view of the weeping willow trees swaying in the wind, gondolas gliding along the waterway, and local life in the village.

12:30-16:00Visit the World Financial Center

In the afternoon, you’ll travel 1 hour by car to the World Financial Center and go up to the 100th floor for spectacular views of the city.

It is the world’s tenth tallest building (492 m), and the fifth tallest in Mainland China [2016]. The 100th floor has a viewing gallery 55 meters long — the third highest observation deck in China, after the Canton Tower and Shenzhen IFC, and fourth highest in the world (the Burj Khalifa’s is highest) [2016].

As one of the most popular attractions in Shanghai, the World Financial Center receives many tourists every day. Usually people have to stand in a queue for at least half an hour! Your tour guide will buy the tickets on-line in advance so that you will NOT need to stand in a boring long queue.

In order to save your time and improve your experience, we have researched the best time of the day to be 1:30 in the afternoon for 3 reasons: less people, brighter sunlight, and better views, especially on poorer air quality days.

16:00-17:00Walk on the Bund

Finally we head to our last scenic spot-the Bund. There are many buildings on both sides of the Bund, and you can feel the strong contrast between the old and new buildings in the east and in the west. Walking through the Bund, you can see a lot of boats galloping on the Huangpu River and the towering Oriental Pearl TV Tower not far away.

17:00-18:00Return to Your Hotel or Onward Transport

This is for the day, your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel for about 1/2 hours. If you need to catch a flight or a train after the tour we are more than happy to help you arrange it. Please click here to book the airport transfer for your onward flight.
